Solmeyea is a Greek biotech startup founded in 2019, aiming to transform CO₂ into sustainable, non-GMO proteins for food applications. With a bold vision to help feed 1 billion people and utilize 1 gigaton of CO₂ annually by 2030, Solmeyea is rethinking food production from the ground up—or rather, from the air.
In its early stages, the company focused on developing its core technology while exploring funding and partnership opportunities. Through the Enterprise Europe Network Hellas and the support of PRAXI Network, Solmeyea received expert guidance on grant applications, proposal reviews, and international matchmaking. This collaboration led to early recognition with a Seal of Excellence and opened doors to strategic R&D partnerships.
As Solmeyea scaled up, EEN support intensified through the EEN2EIC initiative, helping the company successfully navigate the demanding EIC Accelerator process. From proposal coaching to interview preparation, this tailored support was instrumental in securing high-profile EU funding.
Today, with growing interest from over 100 food manufacturers, Solmeyea is scaling its impact—proving that innovation, sustainability, and the right support network can reshape the future of food.
